Wiltshire – Nov 25, 2011 – On the 24th November 2011, a panel of judges from across the DIY sector voted Spirit Green as the DIY Product of the Year 2011. Presented at the Manchester Hilton, the DIY week awards are the pinnacle of product recognition within the sector and have a long history of rewarding the best innovations in the DIY world.

“This was a fitting reward for the team at Spirit Green who’ve spent years perfecting the formula, and testing it with consumers and trades on all paint types to ensure that, not only did it clean brushes and rollers effectively, but it also left them conditioned and as good as new for the next job” said Carl Stanley, Marketing Director of EG Int Ltd.

The DIY week awards claim to celebrate innovation and excellence in the DIY market and Spirit Green now joins a legacy of other award winners such as the highly successful Frogtape and blah blah. Judges were most impressed by its ability to perform on even durable paints, whilst being safe for both users and the environment.

This is the first award for Spirit Green, and following the initial reaction from the market, the future of the product looks to follow that of other DIY award winners.

EG announces launch of Spirit Green

Wiltshire – Sept 1, 2011 – Today EG announced the launch of another product innovation to add to their growing list of environmentally friendly lines. Spirit Green is the first eco- and user-friendly alternative to white spirit for the purpose of cleaning paint from brushes, rollers and other paint equipment.

“Spirit Green has been our most exciting project so far. We knew the prolific list of issues that users had with white spirit, and we wanted to see if we could develop something which would fulfil purpose but without the problems. It’s been a long road, but we’re thrilled at being able to achieve the original goal” says Craig Huth, Managing Director of EG Int Ltd.

Spirit Green boasts the ability to work on both oil and water based paints, whilst also being solvent-free, non-toxic, and containing no nasty smell. Its lack of nasty chemicals also means Spirit Green is much safer for users and the environment, and can be poured down the sink without worry – not to mention brush conditioning benefits.

The arrival of a solvent-free, low VOC paint cleaner is well timed in a market currently undergoing great scrutiny for its environmental impact. Much has been in reducing VOC’s in paint formulations, but until now, no-one had done much in the way of paint cleaning. Fingers crossed this is only the beginning for further market developments.
